WWG announced that it has added in-app tournaments to the Star Realms app. Most tournaments will require an entry free (paid in credits…the same credits you can earn and spend in the Arena), though WWG has stated that there will also be some free tournaments.
It began with 69 players battling through 7 Swiss rounds, after which the Top 8 would advance to a final single elimination round. The winner of that final single elimination round would be crowned the newest Legend!
I’m pleased to announce that we’re just a couple days away from the BGG Star Realms League – the oldest running Star Realms competition – beginning its 50th season of play on 1 July. This is not only a major milestone for the League, but it also marks the implementation of the biggest set of changes to the League during my tenure as League Commissioner and possibly in the entire history of the League.
We all love Star Realms, but most of us primarily play online. In fact, there is a whole lot of the community that either don’t own the physical cards, or if they do, have only touched them to sleeve them and put them away for safe keeping. Which is fine. But what happens when you go to a live tournament? What happens when you want to win a playmat, some cash, or even your face on a card at Origins or Gen Con?
