I have always used the term “scuttle” to mean “sacrifice”. Its the naval term for purposefully destroying your own ship, and it seemed relevant to these space navies.

Seems interesting as well. In this case, the sacrifice term applies to any card you trash for effect.

This was best article on strategy, IMO. You both did a fantastic job, and I think this paradigm is necessary to advance to higher tiers of play. I would clarify that sacrificing a big ship before the killing blow is advisable when you can see that your deck could end the game that turn. I will sacrifice a Battle Blob or Dreadnaught early in my deck if I calculate the risk is high to end the game on that draw. Does that make sense?
